Unit 11: 3D Design

Purple Heart Bee Necklace

This necklace, featuring a bright purple heart and a bubble bee, is my physical anchor to my grandfather. One of the last gifts he gave me was an amethyst bracelet; because his death was sudden, I never could have guessed that moment would be our final goodbye. By translating that memory into this design, I am honoring our bond and refusing to hide the weight of my grief.

In alignment with my learning objective, occupying space with unapologetic vulnerability, this project served as my digital safe space. To create something this personal and vulnerable was a conscious choice to prove to myself that softness is not weakness. I was surprised by how the technical process of 3D modeling in TinkerCad forced me to simplify my emotions into bold shapes. If I were to do it again, I would make the heart even larger to demand more space. This would further lean into the idea of being honest and refusing to change for others. This necklace embodies my identity by showing the strength in being open. I am wearing my history and my heart on the outside, and this is not a weakness but a strength of being unapologetically vulnerable.
