Hello, fellow curious minds and makers, welcome to my page! My name is Sonja Boyko, a first-year M.A. Art & Art Education student (Initial Certification) at Teachers College. I hold a BSVA in Visual Arts with a Psychology minor from Purchase College ('23), where I founded the Improv Club and Disability Student Union and served as a SUNY Disability Ambassador. I love traveling in Europe, and I visited over 11 countries. I am also a dedicated commuter, traveling over 90 minutes to get to campus!
I currently work as a Chess Coach and Substitute Teacher on Long Island. My artistic practice explores the connection between art and psychology, spanning 2D media (painting, drawing) and 3D work (clay, crocheted, plaster). In new media, I possess strong skills in Photoshop and digital collage, including a "Pride Hearts" piece that was published for SUNY Pride in 2022.
