Unit 5 Video: Creative Assignment "How to Monoprint with a Found Object"
Monoprinting is the ultimate "let go" medium because it’s a one-shot deal where the ink has a mind of its own, making it the perfect playground to quiet your inner perfectionist. I took inspiration from “How to create a Monoprint” by Mr. Dolan Art that I found on YouTube and made it my own. By filming the process on my phone, I was forced to focus on the squish of the roller and the literal feel of the paper rather than obsessing over a "flawless" finish. I kept the audio fun and added some sound effects instead of a voiceover, mostly because I wanted the focus to stay on the hands-on process rather than on me talking. Teaching others requires me to embrace the smudge and the "oops" moments in real-time, showing my brain that the magic actually happens in the messy, tactile way rather than the final look.
